Food Sourcing Policy
We would like to provide you with some information on where we buy our produce from for catering here at Bishops Square.
East One, Lavanda and Partners Lounge
•Meat- Lamb, beef, pork and chicken are all sourced in the U.K and are Red Tractor certified. Our lamb & beef comes from the Lake District. The chicken we serve is halal which describes the way the chicken is slaughtered.
•Fish is bought locally wherever possible with the exception of for example Yellow Fin Tuna, Red Snapper and Tilapia which are not native to our waters. All fish is from sustainable sources and is MSC certified therefore ensuring fish stock sustainability.
•Fruit and Vegetables. Seasonality is key in procuring fruit and veg, and we buy locally sourced, British produce wherever possible. Exceptions of course are tropical fruits such as bananas and pineapples, and other items that have very limited growing seasons in the UK such as asparagus.
•Dairy- All whole eggs are free range.
•Dry Goods- Flours are organic and are recognised to produce better quality and tastier breads, cakes and biscuits.
•Meat. The chicken used is a variety of breeds such as Devon Rose or Poulet Noir, all are free range or organic. The Pork used is a variety of breeds, for example Gloucester Old Spot, Saddleback and Tamworth, all pork used is free range. In respect of the Beef used, again there is a variety of breeds including Aberdeen Angus and Welsh Black. The Lamb used is Kentish or Welsh
•Fruit and Vegetables. Premium fruit and vegetables are locally sourced, with real emphasis on seasonality and freshness.

Searcys, our caterer, have a robust process in place where all their suppliers are audited before they can become a preferred supplier. This involves the Group Health and Food Safety Manager visiting their premises/farm to look at areas such as, but not exclusively, the state of premises, cleaning records, environmental audits, evidence of local EHO audits, animal welfare (in the case of meat production), hygiene and food safety practices, health & safety, any other applicable certifications.
In addition the premises at Bishops Square hold the top rating of ‘5’ on The Food Hygiene Rating Scheme. This means that the business was found to have ‘very good’ hygiene standards when it was inspected by a food safety officer from Tower Hamlets local authority.
Searcy’s at Allen & Overy are also members of the Sustainable Restaurant Association achieving the coveted Three star Sustainability Champion award after being assesed across our 14 key areas of sustainability. The award is the hallmark of a restaurant going the extra mile to achieve sustainability.
Lavanda booking policy
We only take lunch bookings for parties of 5 people or more up until a maximum of 12 people, for smaller parties we operate on first come first served basis.

Lavanda can be booked after 17:30 for events on an exclusive basis Monday to Wednesday and on a non- exclusive basis Monday to Thursday. Lavanda is not available for events Fridays. The maximum numbers we can have in Lavanda is 80 for drinks and canapés, for buffets the maximum is 35. For areas reserved for drinks only we take a maximum of 3 parties for the same evening with a maximum of 40 people in total.

Cafe East Evening booking Policy
Cafe East is available for internal events all week on an exclusive or nonexclusive for cocktail/canapé reception only for up to 60 guests and may be booked from 17:30 – 22:00.
Cafe East bookings do not include exclusive use of terrace but an area on the right side can be reserved.

Hospitality Cancelation Policy
Allen & Overy Catering Cancellation Policy
You must contact Reservations before midday, one working day in advance of your booking to notify us of any changes or cancellations. Bookings cancelled after this time are subject to a charge which could include any perishable food items that have been ordered or prepared, including items ordered through third party suppliers i.e. kosher meals or miscellaneous equipment to which we are committed.
We will always do our best to minimise any costs charged to you, however if food has been ordered or prepared this may result in a charge.
